July 19 Helpful Solutions
Tues., 7:00—9:00 p.m.
Carvi Shamsid-Deen, Facilitator
The collective wisdom of our members is featured at this month’s meeting. Come share your knowledge, whatever it may be: healthy food that’s easy to prepare; treatment protocols you can do at home (like epsom salt baths, special breathing techniques, or heat socks); social services for which you may be eligible; tests and treatments that have helped the most; etc. If you are able, write it down and bring 25 or so copies - that really helps everyone remember what was said in these fast-paced meetings. Time and energy frequently run short. Come join us as we learn valuable methods for coping from each other!
Location: East Room, Edwards Cancer Center.

Aug 4 Treating & Beating FM & CFS
Thur., 6:30—8:00 p.m.
Dr. Rodger Murphree, D.C., C.N.S.

Although he did not originally choose to get involved in treating FM/CFS patients, Dr. Murphree has been passionately specializing in treating Fibromyalgia and CFS for several years now. Author of three CFS/FM books and an upcoming cardio book to be released in the fall, he’s also written dozens of articles about FM and CFS. He lectures nationwide and appears on dozens of radio and television shows which feature his work and expertise in integrative medicine.

In 2002, Dr. Murphree separated from the integrated medical clinic he earlier founded so he could open a practice focusing specifically on Fibromyalgia and CFS. He continues to use this integrative medical approach to treating these illnesses using both traditional and alternative medicine to treat the whole person.

He even rearranged his schedule just so he could speak with our group! Come listen to his theories and treatment for these illnesses. You can read more about how he came to treat PWCs & FibroMites here on our website and also about the patient who changed his life.

Location: Dr. Murphree has reserved a special room at the Radisson Hotel DFW South for this FREE talk (located near the south entrance of DFW on 183, just east of Valley View Lane; 4600 W. Airport Freeway, Irving, Tx; 971.513-0800).

If you wish to hear even more about his treatments, he will be speaking the following Saturday at the Dallas Radisson ($25 entry). (www.DrRodger.com; toll-free 888.884.9577).

Sep 24 Meet & Greet: “Passing The Torch”
Sat., 2:30—4:30 p.m.
Dave Lovelace, Host & Group Founder
Our group’s founder, Dave Lovelace, just loves to entertain! He will be graciously opening up his home to help us symbolically “Pass the Torch” from Carol to our new Co-Support Group Leaders Carla Arledge and Carvi Shamsid-Deen. Come get to know each other and help us welcome these wonderful women into these new positions and thank Carol for all her hard work and devotion. Refreshments will also be served. Good times will be had by all!
Location: Dave’s home is located at 3201 Jane Lane in Haltom City, on the corner of Jane & Dana. Check the internet for a map or call 817.838.6406 for directions.
