Restorative Yoga

Take the edge off during the holidays!! Bring your mats, neck pillows, cushions & water. The postures will be done on the floor. These postures are very gentle & designed to open up breathing pathways and promote relaxation to the entire body and mind.
In our monthly support group meetings, we usually gather to learn new or alternative ways to improve our health from health care professionals. The Gentle R & R Sessions aim to do that using the confines of our own mind/body space. Stretching, deeper breathing, and conscious relaxation all help to reduce tension/stress and ease painful muscles. These practices will also stimulate circulation, enhance the immune system, and provide a mild form of detoxification. If you would like to lead a session exploring a technique you have discovered, please coordinate with Suzanna, our Gentle R & R coordinator at GentleRandR (at) dfwcids (dot) com.
Come join us to learn and practice techniques which can enhance your healing program. Handouts providing stretching tips and audio/video recommendations, given at class, can help you start your own home program. Tax-deductible Support Group/"Gentle R & R" donations are welcome for each session or support group meeting. Sessions are held in one of the top floor conference rooms at Harris HEB Hospital, in the Edwards Cancer Center. The Cancer Center is the northernmost building of the hospital complex (closest to the freeway).
