Things are moving fast of late! It's been a very busy quarter—a very busy month even! Of course, the talk by Dr. Cheney was outstanding. Check out the seminar highlights or read the April article, "CFS & Cardiac Issues," the second part of which is in this July newsletter which will be mailed tomorrow or today!

We now have two volunteers who will be serving as Co-Support Group LeadersCarla Arledge and Carvi Shamsid-Deen (Carla and Dr. Sharp and were featured in the story by Dr. Mona Khana of Channel 11. Check out the story in the Fall 2004 issue of The DFW Lighthouse). Carla will be serving as our new Meeting Coordinator and Carvi as our Newsletter Distribution Manager. We have also obtained the dfwcfids name (on the web), so now you can type in dfwcfids.org, dfwcfids.info, dfwcfids.com, or dfwcfids.net and still get to us!

We also have a new phone number set up for information: 817.303.4851. You can call it for meeting information, general information, to sign up for the newsletter, to change your mailing address, etc.

Carla has agreed to schedule one month of meetings per quarter—more when & if she is able. This quarter we have three meetings, starting with a "Helpful Solutions" meeting next month in July. Dr. Rodger Murphree has rearranged his schedule just to come talk with our support group in August; read how he came to treat FM & CFS patients and how his patient, Sheila, totally changed his life. He sent us a couple copies of his books & tapes to share with each other. Get with your support group leaders for that.

Then, in September, we'll be throwing a "Meet & Greet: Passing the Torch" ceremony to officially hand over the torch from Carol to Carla & Carvi just in case you weren't able to attend the June Cheney seminar and meet our new Co-Support Group Leaders. Carol She also received a "Thank You" plaque from the group. Although it's true Carla & Carvi will have been in position three months by then, we do live on CFS time, so ... why not celebrate their accomplishments? It's a party—come on! Let's have a little fun & meet these wonderful women! This meeting will be held at our group founder's house, Dave Lovelace.

If you would like to participate in a research study, check this out!

Dr. Cheney will be speaking to our group in Irving, Texas on June 18. If you don't believe you'll be able to attend our Spring Seminar featuring Dr. Cheney speaking on "CFS & Diastolic Cardiomyopathy," we're now taking advance orders for the videos. Two notes: make sure it fits your equipment (different in different countries) and be aware it'll probably take a couple months after the Seminar for the videos to be ready to ship.
