General Meeting Info

We hold educational group meetings at least once per quarter in the Edwards Cancer Center at Harris Methodist HEB Hospital located in Bedford, TX. Harris HEB Hospital Occasionally, meetings are held at alternate locations. Family and friends are also welcome and encouraged to attend.

Our meetings usually feature a guest speaker and have included varied health practitioners, disability attorneys, and professionals. Periodically, we also offer "Gentle R & R" sessions for stretching and relaxation, and "Helpful Solutions" meetings where members share tips for coping with daily activities and managing their illness.

Meetings are usually on the third Tuesday from 7—9 pm or a Saturday afternoon from 2:30—4:30 pm, and are announced on our site in our Upcoming Meetings section and in our free quarterly newsletter. Since our meeting dates vary and we may occasionally need to reschedule or cancel a meeting, it's advisable to subscribe to our DFW-CFS-FM Yahoo! group, where breaking news and announcements will appear first.

Important: Many of our members are extremely sensitive to a multitude of chemicals and scented products. In order to keep our meetings accessible to as many as possible, we ask that you not wear perfume, cologne, scented products (including shampoos, hairsprays, etc), or clothes exposed to smoke or other strong household chemicals to the meetings. Be aware that common household agents frequently have strong fragrances in them also. Please mention this to any family or friends that may be coming with you as well.

We realize that this may be inconvenient for some and perhaps require a bit of advance planning, but we greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation. And PLEASE don't let this keep you away from our meetings! Just try to be as sensitive as you can to other members needs also, so all may benefit from our meetings.

Meeting Directions

Harris HEB Methodist Hospital is located at Highway 183 and Hospital Parkway in Bedford.

Visit MapQuest for additional driving directions.

The Edwards Cancer Center is the building closest to the freeway, north of the hospital's main building and emergency room. Due to heightened security, the revolving doors at the entrance of the Edwards Cancer Center may be locked during evenings (usually after 7pm) and weekends when we hold our meetings. If this is the case, then you should proceed to the main entrance (to your right if you're facing the building, to your left if you're facing the parking lot).

Once in the hospital main lobby, go left past the main elevators down the long corridor to the north wing. Meeting rooms are just past the second set of elevators and restrooms on the right, and revolving doors on the left. CFS/FM Support Group signs are usually posted along the corridor. Take a look at the Harris Methodist HEB Hospital Visitor Map for a visual layout of the buildings.
