For the third time this year, the SPCA of Texas Village Fair Spay/Neuter Clinic will be hosting "Neuter Scooter for a Nickel."

In an effort to curb pet overpopulation, the SPCA is providing an opportunity for cat owners to get their male cat neutured for only 5 cents.

Many suffering from chronic illnesses find much needed companionship in pets. Plus they can be a great stress reducer! However, while pets are wonderful additions to the household, the cost of their care adds up.

And, we know that chronic illness and disability can lead to income challenges. So this is a great benefit to those who have very little to spend on pets and related expenses.

Also, keep in mind that in addition to helping reduce pet overpopulation, "neutering also reduces a cat’s chances of developing testicular cancer, diminishes roaming tendencies and decreases the urge to mark territory by spraying," according to the SPCA.
