Awareness Activities for 2000
Our support group recognized Awareness Day with a flurry of activities before, during, and after May 12th. We were privileged to host two national speakers: Myra Preston, PhD, and Jacob Teitelbaum, MD. Members were encouraged to write their senators and representatives and offered packets with sample letters. Library displays using materials on CFIDS and FMS were set up in thirteen metroplex libraries. Information tables at area hospitals were set up in Ft. Worth and Bedford by Dave Lovelace, Barbara Branyon, Carol Sieverling and Deborah Bryant. Brian Couch requested and received an official proclamation of May 12 as Awareness Day from the City of Dallas, and Nancy Jackson received one from Southlake. Susan Roberts sent a "letter to the editor" concerning CFS/FM to the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram, published on May 7th. Carol Sieverling, Deborah Bryant and Diane Provenza attended Lobby Days in Washington DC. Many thanks to all those who participated in these various activities.
