New Member Information

Welcome to the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia Support Group of Dallas-Fort Worth! We're glad to have you here. All are welcome—you don't have to live in the DFW metroplex to be a member of our group!

While many of our resources are specific to those residing in the DFW metroplex such as the meetings and the local doctors on our referral list, other resources will be useful to people living in other areas of the country or world-wide. So get comfortable and take a look around. Let us know if you have any questions.

• The Website
  Our website is www.dfwcfids.org. There is a wide variety of information available on it.

• The Newsletter
  Our free quarterly newsletter, The DFW Lighthouse, is available on our website. You can receive a link to the latest newsletter emailed to you as soon as it’s ready by joining DFW_Newsletter at www.yahoogroups.com. If you wish to be added to the snailmail mailing list or have a hardcopy mailed to you, contact Melissa Culling at MailingList (at) dfwcfid (dot) org.

• The Meetings
  

  Monthly meetings will be held at least through September, 2005. We are currently going though a time of transition but we do now have two new Co-Support Group Leaders so we expect meetings will continue, albeit only once per quarter after this time. All meetings are announced in the newsletter and on our website. Meetings are typically the third Tuesday evening of the month, or the following Saturday afternoon. Be sure to check the newsletter for date, time, topic, and speaker info.

• The Referral List
  We have a referral list that contains healthcare professionals, psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, disability lawyers, dentists who do amalgam removal and/or cavitation surgery, and other area support groups. All those listed have been referred by our members who are CFS and/or FM patients. Contact Debbie at ReferralList (at) dfwcfids (dot) org to receive it as an email attachment.

• The eGroups
  We have three online lists at www.yahoogroups.com:
  • CFS-FM-DFW, fully moderated, is an announcement and networking list (no discussion, although requests for info may be posted with replies going only to the one who posted.).
  • CFS-FM-DFW-chat, an unmoderated list, is a more informal chat list.
  • DFW_Newsletter, our third group, is an announcement-only list for the newsletter. You only receive an email when the online version of the DFW Lighthouse is available. You can register for these free groups at www.yahoogroups.com or go to our eGroups page for more information.
