Job Descriptions

Considered volunteering lately? There's a lot to do! We have a wonderful group of volunteers but more volunteers are always needed and welcome. The following are some of the volunteer positions available in our support group. Some are filled, however, some are not. Those that are not filled are read and marked with an asterisk. We're currently in the process of updating our information so please bear with us!

Take a minute to browse through the listings and see if there is something that fits your unique talents, abilities, and interests. Remember that most all jobs can be broken down into smaller tasks. If a job is too big for you, maybe you can job-share with another member! If you are interested in volunteering for any of these positions, please get in touch with Carvi Shamsid-Deen, our Support Group Leader.

Be a Part of Our Website!

All members of our support group can be part of this website. Since the majority of our members cannot get to meetings on a regular basis, this is a wonderful opportunity to combat isolation by learning about others in the group and even contacting them by email.

The Meet Our Members section needs your input. Call our support group leaders about it if you wish (817.303.4851). Please send a paragraph about yourself that includes whatever information you are comfortable having posted on the internet to Carvi, our new Support Group Leader. If you'd like a picture posted, you may either send that to them electronically or via snail mail to:

CFS/FM Support Group of DFW
P.O. Box 433
Grapevine, Texas 76099-0433

Suggestions of information you might want to include are: your name, gender, marital status, age, address, telephone, profession (current and/or before illness) interests/hobbies, personal story, unique symptoms and/or treatments. If you have an email address, personal web page address, IM, or internet nickname, please include this information also. You can even send a picture of yourself to be scanned in!

Bedridden/Homebound Patients Want To Connect With Others!

Several bedridden and homebound patients have let us know that, while they simply cannot get out to meetings, they still have a desire to connect with others in the same situation. If you are unable to get out much but would like to visit with others by phone or email, please contact Carvi (our new support group leader), who will act as a clearinghouse and put you in touch with each other.
